Carbon conscious: We help participants calculate their carbon emissions generated from their travel and involve them in the compensation of these emissions through planting trees at our mountain retreat.
Circular economy: We operate a zero waste policy at the campsite, re-using and recycling everything we can, avoiding plastic and encouraging the use of natural materials where possible. We are inspired by the vision of a circular economy, where nothing is wasted.
Eco-building: Participants learn to design and build long lasting structures using natural, biodegradable materials, following permaculture principles and eco-building.
Ethical finance: We manage our finances with the best ethical banks available in each country we operate in and during the camp run an ethical finance game to help students learn about the social and environmental consequences of banking.
Green camping: We stay at a car-free campsite, with solar energy installations and plenty of green space to protect local wildlife.
Local food: We source local food from the area of Alta Garrotxa, working with farmers’ cooperatives, organic and fair trade produce where possible. The diet is varied and respects individuals’ ethical and cultural requirements.
Water efficiency: In camp life participants will learn how to look after this precious resource, and we make the most of the crystalline rock pools and waterfalls for swimming and bathing.
We aim to walk the talk and work with participants to help make future camps more sustainable.
